POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lead IT Support Technician position assists staff, faculty, and students with technical support of computers, applications, and related technology. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems (such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365 environment, and Apple Macs) to diagnose and resolve problems. The position utilizes IT support Management tool to provide first-line helpdesk support to 绿巨人视频 users, assisting them in person, via phone, email, chat and remote connection. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities - Desktop Support
- Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
- Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications.
- Responds to and resolves user requests for IT technical support in a timely manner using 绿巨人视频 Request Management Systems.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The principal responsibilities of this position are to advise students on building a career trajectory; acquiring and identifying transferable, marketable skills; and preparing to enter the world of work.
ACE advisors with a career focus to work in tandem with ACE advisors with an academic focus to build links with students, faculty, and the departments, with the career-focus advisors working with students to discover the range of discipline-oriented professional trajectories and to develop professional skills both inside and outside the classroom.
They work with faculty and the departments to transform their contacts within the field into internship and work opportunities for students by helping build and maintain employer networks. Flexibility is crucial to this position, as is the ability to work well within a team, to function independently, and to demonstrate diplomacy while dealing with a range of stakeholders. ACE team members supply support to other ACE staff as required by the cyclical nature of the academic year.
Note that these are shared roles: duties and tasks listed below will be distributed across ACE Advisors 鈥� no one advisor does it all! Rather, ACE advisors with a career focus will be responsible for taking a percentage of the career, internship, GPS, and relationship-building responsibilities.
The ACE Advisor 鈥� Career Focus Level 2 role is for someone with a proven track record in all the skill areas detailed below and, after an initial training period, can function completely autonomously.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General career advising, exploration, and coaching:
鈥� Works with students who seek support in exploring career pathway possibilities that link their academic, co-curricular and past professional experiences and interests.
鈥� Assists students in preparing and implementing their internship and job searches by leading workshops, group coaching sessions, and individual student appointments.
鈥� Support鈥檚 students in the preparation of resumes and cover letters in English and French, interview preparation, job and internship search tactics, etc.鈥� Maintains and shares knowledge on trends and best practices in recruiting in France, Europe, the US, and other parts of the world; use of social media for job seeking and the latest developments in resume writing; and maintain presence in professional networks.
鈥� Assists students in preparing and implementing their post-graduate studies applications by helping students identify programs of interest, navigate the application process, and write application essays, etc.
鈥� Manages career services offerings to alumni, meets with alumni both in person and online to offer career counseling services.
Internship Program coordination:
鈥� Oversees the Internship and Career Advising Assistant in processing students鈥� internship registrations.
鈥� Liaises with other offices as appropriate concerning interns鈥� graduation dates, GPA and overload issues, internship dates for enrollment certificates, carte de s茅jour and visa issues, tuition payments, health and other insurance issues.
鈥� Implements internship approval process and registers approved internships via CAMs or other student data management system.
鈥� Ensures faculty, students and host companies have access to accurate information through creation and revision of all aspects of internship information.

QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION OVERVIEW
The American University of Paris is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as the next Director of Career Development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement engaging career development programs that align with 绿巨人视频鈥檚 strategic objectives for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as playing a critical role in supporting overall student success and increasing retention and persistence to graduation. Collaborating with campus and community partners, as well as employers, will be a key aspect of this role, allowing for meaningful connections that enhance our students鈥� career opportunities.
The Director should be an autonomous, student-centered, entrepreneurial leader, capable of creating a sense of mission both within Career and Internship Advising and its sister half, Academic Advising, as well as across administrative units and academic departments in support of the holistic student learning experience. The Director will be a visionary career development professional, capable of launching, supporting and curating innovative programs and structures, such as the recent redesign of ACE, but also existing programs such as the Global Professional Skills (GPS) program, ensuring that career development at 绿巨人视频 builds on the pathways program as described within the University鈥檚 new strategic plan.
RESPONSIBILITES
The director is responsible for the following areas:
Office Mission and Scope
- Creating, delivering, and evaluating quality career development programming for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Works with the Director for Academic Advising to improve the unit鈥檚 holistic guiding of students through the 绿巨人视频 experience, englobing both requirements and progress toward degrees and co-curricular and career possibilities for students.
- Advises students on internships and careers, with sufficient understanding of the academic advising process so that the student鈥檚 movement between career and academic advising is seamless.
- Works with the Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum Committee to ensure that GPS remains within the framework of Experiential Learning (CCX) requirement, for as long as GPS may be used to fulfill that requirement.
- Works with Career Advisors to ensure appropriate cross-training so that Career Advisors have functional knowledge of all aspects of the work of the Career Advising team.鈥� Works with the Co-Director and the Academic Advising team to ensure that all unit members understand the goals and processes of the various activities of the unit.
- Contributes to collective awareness of trends and best practices in career development and recruitment throughout the world; use of social media for job seeking and the latest developments in resume writing; and maintain a presence in professional networks such as NACE and the American Chamber of Commerce in France.
- Coordinates with Alumni Affairs, Outreach and Advancement to identify alumni contacts for job and internship leads and to grow the Global Mentoring Program.
- Coordinates with University Registrar on issues impacting both teams such as policy issues including those related to internships, internal CCX projects, and CCX requirements.
- Coordinates with the Registrar鈥檚 Office, Student Accounting Services, Student Immigration Services, and Academic departments on policy development and implementation.
- Continually works to build, grow and improve the Unit鈥檚 work and collaboration with constituents, particularly with a view to developing trust and working relationships within academic departments and those whose students have generally not been users of internship and career services.
- Interfaces with Alumni and Faculty/Staff Emeriti Councils and Advancement and Outreach.
- Works on special internal projects (internal CCX programs, Learning Commons, Academic Affairs Management Group, etc.)
Oversees and supports Career Advising Team projects and programs
- Works in collaboration with the GPS Governance Committee, the Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum Committee, and the Provost to maintain, build and assess the GPS program. Supports the team member who takes point on day-to-day GPS issues.
- Chairs GPS Governance Committee.
- Oversees cross-department coordination, such as recruiting university units to be involved with, and/or support the program, recruiting volunteers and/or mentors among 绿巨人视频 faculty/staff/students.
- Supports the team member taking point on internships, particularly in situations of tension of conflict between internal and external constituents.
- Acts as spokesperson with all administrative units as necessary for Career Advising projects and Programs.
- Works with the staff member taking point on GPS to ensure that the Engage platform effectively delivers the GPS Program moving forward, automating tasks whenever possible. Investigate alternatives to the Engage platform.
- Manages the annual calendar of the career team鈥檚 mission-critical events to ensure equitable distribution of tasks and prevent overlap.
- Develops and runs workshops and/or courses designed to provide students with hands-on guidance as they prepare to launch their career, search for an end of studies internship, or pursue graduate studies.
- Supports the team members in their work developing trust and contacts within the academic departments, particularly those whose students have generally not been users of internship and career services.
- May be called on to liaise with host companies for any issues arising during the internship, particularly disciplinary issues or accidents.
- Ensures student internship advising needs are met.
- With the career advisors, monitor French legislation concerning internships to ensure compliance, keeps 绿巨人视频鈥檚 internship documents up to date and revisits them regularly in order to guarantee accuracy and user friendliness.
- Ensures that the internship point person has renewed annual renewal of civil liability insurance policy and filed internship declarations and URSSAF payments.
- Responsible for coordinating annual internship declaration and payments to URSSAF.鈥� Advises various departments when applicable on issues related to internships and careers, to facilitate the development of a shared student professional development culture with faculty.
- Contributes (e.g., via speaking engagements) to the promotion of ACE and programs under its purview.
- Liaises with the Provost and the Dean of Student Development to raise the profile of co-curricular contributions to the student learning experience and development of competencies.
- Contributes to the overall strategic goal of increasing student participation in career planning and professional development.
General Office Management
- Building a belief in our mission and in the centrality of the student experience among ACE staff members andmotivating them to.
- Working collaboratively to enhance career development and post-graduation success.
- Supervision of the Career Advising staff members, ensuring the appropriateness of assignments and resource allocation, which includes efficient work assignments across the team, oversight of the internship program and GPS programs, and distribution of workshops and other activities.
- With the Director for Academic Advising, ensures coordination and back-up across functions within the ACE group.
- Coordinates office assessment activities and routine program evaluation to streamline current practices to ensure maximum sustainability of the program and maximum utility of assessment practices.
- Maintains student confidentiality and office adherence to FERPA and GDPR regulations.
- Oversees Career Advising timesheets and carry out annual interviews.

The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time position with a focus on Writing and digital humanities in the Department of Comparative Literature and English, at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2025. The responsibilities will include teaching in the English Writing program as that program adjusts to the rise of artificial intelligence, and contributing to the ongoing development of courses that interrogate the relationship between humans and technology, be that through performance, film or game scripts, fiction writing, digital humanities, disability studies, or critical theory. Participation in either 绿巨人视频鈥檚 Writing Lab or its MFA program would be expected.
Qualifications: A terminal degree in a relevant discipline (MFA or PhD) by time of appointment (August 1, 2025) is preferred. Candidates must have a record of high-quality publication and excellent teaching, including excellence in teaching writing. Candidates should provide evidence of successful digital humanities pedagogy or research. The candidate must be able to speak and write in fluent English. While fluency in French is not required, knowledge of at least two languages and experience of multi-lingual environments are strongly preferred.
