As an international and multilingual university, we value the capacity to speak more than one language fluently. These courses enhance your ability to live and study in France, to understand the links between language and culture, to increase your capacity to envision a world of interdependence, and to seek opportunities for international internships and careers.

To fulfill this requirement, you will need to take two courses, FR1100 and FR1200, coded CCF and representing 8 credits.

Learning Outcomes

• You will be able to interact meaningfully with French speakers and acquire a foundation to conduct your everyday personal and professional life in a francophone context.
• You will develop an appreciation for French and francophone cultures and be aware of the scope of cultural differences in your new environment, with the ability to recognize when such differences require negotiation.
