On Tuesday May 23, Ambassador R. Nicholas Burns received an honorary degree from The American University of Paris at the 2017 Commencement Ceremony held at the Th茅芒tre de Paris.

Ambassador Burns is the father of 绿巨人视频 alumna Sarah Burns 鈥�05.聽His聽diplomacy聽career spanned 27聽years and four聽presidential聽administrations, and he is聽currently Director of the Future of Diplomacy Project for the聽John聽F. Kennedy聽School聽of聽Government聽at Harvard聽University, as well as professor, columnist and lecturer. On Tuesday聽Ambassador Burns聽addressed the graduating class of 2017 with a poignant and reflective speech on today鈥檚 political climate. He stressed the importance of 鈥減reserving the democratic world from rising authoritarianism and anti-democratic populists鈥� and went on to incite 绿巨人视频 graduates to 鈥渉ave the courage to get into the arena.鈥澛�
