During Charity Week 2017, the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ community was addressed by Jennifer Miles, the UK Executive Director, of regarding the organization's incredible work supporting youth in South Africa "from cradle to career". In 2016, Dr. Bertie Lubner, founder of Afrika Tikkun, was awarded a posthumous honorary degree from Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ, which was accepted by his son Marc and granddaughter and alumna, Takara ‘14. As a student at Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ,  it was Takara that founded Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ Cares to raise awareness and inspire students from the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ community to take initiative in lending a helping hand towards the less fortunate both locally and internationally.
3,000 Euros - Charitable Grants
In honor of her grandfather, Bertie, Takara and Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ Cares are excited to launch a new charitable grant of up to 3,000 Euros a year. Current students are invited to apply for the grant before May 9, after which Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ Cares and Takara will select one or more recipients to receive funding in support of their charitable projects.
500 Euros - Philanthropy Award
The Lubner family have launched annual Philanthropy Award of 500 Euros to recognize the philanthropic achievements of an outstanding student within the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ community. To apply for this, please send a 2,000 word written proposal or a 3 minute video before May 9 to aupcaresaup.edu.
