Fabienne Brugère: Que faire de nos attachments en démocratie ? (Care & Democracy Series)

Q-609 - 6 Rue du Colonel Combes, 75007 Paris
Thursday, November 7, 2024 - 17:30 to 19:00

We are pleased to invite you to the second session of the Care Ethics and Democratic Theory. The seminar will host Fabienne Brugère (Université Paris 8) for a discussion on "Que faire de nos attachments en démocratie ?"

The series will explore how the relational dimensions of care, traditionally centered on dependency and moral responsibility, can deepen our understanding of democratic practices. By examining care as a normative and political framework, the seminars will interrogate how care ethics challenges conventional liberal-democratic ideals, reshaping conceptions of citizenship, power, and social cohesion. Speakers include: Sandra Laugier (Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne), Patricia Paperman (Paris 8), Carol Gilligan (NYU), Fabienne Brugére (Paris 8), Barbara Formis (Université Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Zona Zarić (̾Ƶ).
