Call for Proposals

The Learning Commons advisory committee is very pleased to invite you to the inaugural meeting of the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ Learning Commons Forum for Research and Practice. This will take place on Teams on Wednesday, March 24 at 17:00.

The Forum is designed to foster an inspirational and supportive showcase for research-led scholarship and creation from within the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ community. It aims to give all members of Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ the opportunity to present, discuss, gain feedback on and develop their work within the context of the diverse and interdisciplinary atmosphere at our institution. Students, alums, staff and faculty members have been invited to submit proposals for short presentations of their recent projects – including research, interdisciplinary collaborations or creative practice.

The following members of the Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ community have kindly offered to share their work:

  • Isabella Archer (ACE), will speak on ‘Digital Displacement: The Virtual Exhibition of Middle Eastern Cultural Heritage Sites in Museums’
  • Jessica Hale, Loida Escobar and Emmanuelle Lewis (current Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ students) will present their Health Psychology research
  • Kendra Mills (Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ alum), will speak about ‘Human Rights and the Financialisation of the US Water Market’
  • Professor Dan Gunn (CL/EN), will speak on ‘Editing the letters of Muriel Spark’

The informal presentations will be followed by discussion and reflection on the projects. All welcome.

The Learning Commons advisory committee is happy to welcome submissions for consideration for its next Forum on April 21st 2021. Proposals will be accepted up until March 31st 2021 at midday. We will meet again in Fall 2021, and submissions will be re-opened.
