Join us for an evening with Paris Choral Society and American Composer Richard Burchard in anticipation of the World Premiere of the hosts' Stabat Mater. This 45-minute piece was written specifically for Paris Choral and the American Cathedral of Paris Choirs. The world premiere of this beautiful work represents an opportunity for the American community of Paris to gather around a uniquely American work in order that we all might learn more about music, art, passion, and faith. Richard Burchard is an associate professor of music and executive composer-in-residence at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. His work includes more than 40 commissioned works for choirs around the world. In a "Larry King"-esque interview, Mr. Burchard will enlighten the audience on the intricacies and inspiration behind his choral works. Please contact the hosts if you have particular questions or comments which you would like addressed during the interview and discussion. There will be a short reception afterward.Â
All who wish to attend must RSVP in advance. Attendance will be limited to 80 people.
