Spend Thanksgiving week the right way - giving back to those less fortunate than us!Â
Join the SGA and the Service Committee for Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ’s annual Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ Gives Back week from November 20th to November 25th (*formerly known as Charity Week!)
These two student bodies have come together to choose five charities that they wish to support and raise awareness about over the course of the week:
- La Chorba: a soup kitchen and food parcel distribution based in Paris that serves 800 people every day.
- Afrika Tikkun: a charity that helps to build homes and foster community in South African townships.
- AJMJTO: an association that provides for school children on an island off the coast of Madagascar by building schools and raising the necessary funds to maintain them with running water and electricity.
- Finally both Â̾ÞÈËÊÓƵ’s student organizations, the Latin America Club and Baytna à Vous (BVSyria) will be collecting proceeds to go respectively to the Puerto Rican Hurricane Relief called ConPRmetidos and Codssy, who work with Syrian families based in France.
This week-long event includes various engaging and fun events, such as our traditional Thanksgiving dinner (hosted by your Freshmen Representative), our ever-so-popular Chorba Soup Drive where you can have hot soup delivered to your classroom or office, and a brand new feature- a night of comedy with some of Paris’ best English-speaking comedians!
