The annual conference of聽The International Association of Literary Journalism Studies (IALJS)聽will be hosted by theDepartment of English and Comparative Literature聽and the聽Department of Global Communications. Along with its聽plenary speaker, Amy Wilentz, the conference will feature over eighty international scholars representing such fields as journalism, literary journalism, cultural history, film studies, women鈥檚 studies, African American studies, and French studies.
Workshops will range from 鈥淗umor, Satire, Grit and Gonzo in Literary Journalism鈥 and 鈥淓xpanding the Canon: Unconventional Literary Journalists鈥 to 鈥淣ew Trends in Literary Journalism鈥 and 鈥淟iterary Journalism and Justice.鈥 The conference will include special panels made up of female literary journalists and two bi-lingual panels (French-English) on 鈥淟iterary Reportage in the French-Speaking World.鈥
