Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) sometimes called two-factor authentication is an additional security method to secure your account and make sure that only you can log into it. It requires you to authenticate with your password and another piece of information such as code that you receive in a text message, a phone call or through Microsoft authenticator app. This quick user guide shows you how to set up your MFA and how to log in using it. Above the list of MFA methods, click on the little blue Change link next to "Sign-in method when most advisable is unavailable".
 Choose either App based authentication - notification or Phone - call number.

How do you change or update your MFA configuration if it was already set up?

To change/update your MFA configuration (if it was already set up), follow the steps below:

Open a web browser and go to the official Microsoft Office website at office.com and sign in;
Click on your name on the top right corner:
Click on "View Account":
Find the section labeled "Security Info" and click "Update Info".
Click on: Add sign-in method:
Choose the default MFA verification method by clicking "Sign-in method." When the most advisable method is unavailable, select "Microsoft Authenticator – notification".
