In complying with the Higher Education Opportunity Act – 2008, the American University of Paris must “ensure that students have access to affordable course materials by decreasing costs to students and enhancing transparency and disclosure with respect to the selection, purchase, sale, and use of course materials.” This policy defines some of the platforms, timelines, and processes by which the American University of Paris will ensure compliance with the HEOA-2008.

The American University of Paris offers exceptionally motivated students the opportunity to apply for entry into a Bachelor's/Master’s Program in any of the Master's programs at the American University of Paris. This policy ensures consistency and clarity in terms of the application process and academic standing requirements pertaining to these Programs. Students are eligible to apply from any �̾��Ƶ major and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and have earned at least 64 credits at the time of application. Students must also maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 throughout the Master’s program to graduate with the Master's degree.

Students who successfully complete the program will earn two degrees: a BA/BSc and an MA/MSc degree.

GLACC Waiver & Double Count Rules

As of Fall 2020, the new Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (GLACC) has fully replaced the previous system of General Education (GE) requirements. Students who matriculated to �̾��Ƶ before Fall 2019 may follow GE or GLACC requirements. The Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum is required for all students who matriculated to �̾��Ƶ in or after Fall 2019. This policy ensures consistency and clarity in terms of the articulation of each GLACC requirement in relation to other components of the �̾��Ƶ degree, such as the major, minor, FirstBridge, and other GLACC requirements. It outlines waiver possibilities during the transition period between General Education and Global Liberal Arts Core Curriculum as well as authorized double count between GLACC requirements and other components of the �̾��Ƶ degree.

This policy ensures consistency and clarity in how the number of credit hours for a course, the number of classroom contact hours, and the expected hours of work outside the classroom are calculated. Most �̾��Ƶ courses carry four credit hours. However, some courses carry more or fewer credits. The number of in-class hours can also vary.
